A new track for the “nori”, also known as the bamboo train, will be built in Battambang province to keep alive the traditional tourist attraction, a provincial tourism department official said.

“The new track will be built just for tourists and is part of the master plan of Battambang province to develop tourism,” the Khmer Times quoted Uch Omthiny Sara, the director of the provincial tourism department director, as saying.

“The nori is very popular among tourists when they visit Battambang and we need to keep this popular attraction alive,” added Omthiny Sara.
