Winding down at White Wood Beach

A real retreat at Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa

Photos: Marriott Hotels

Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa manages to blend in with its green surrounding and yet also sprouts an air of chicness. The vast and airy lobby building which has turtle-shell roofs and understated art pieces looks out onto a beautiful pond and, from a distance, villas amid lush greenery to block prying eyes. On our way to a low-rise building where our Deluxe Rooms were waiting, we walked past white sands, lush bushes and palm trees.

Suffice to say that you may feel the need to take out your phone and start snapping away at the beautiful and out-of-Architectural-Digest atmosphere. Aspiring models and their aspiring photographer boyfriends (you know who you are) should have a field day, capturing sweet memories at various spots throughout the hotel. It is one pretty photogenic property.

Amply-lit with natural light through floor-to-ceiling glass windows, our Deluxe Room comes with pops of liveliness, thanks to décor in tropical hues set against the white wall. The bathroom itself is rather large in comparison to the respectable total space of 46sqm and, with a glass wall on one side to reduce the sense of confinement, you may want to luxuriate in the big bathtub even longer. The toiletry is made by Tokyo Milk to sweeten your showering or bathing routine. There are other in-room amenities that you would come to expect from a respectable guestroom and we reckon you will want for nothing, well, unless you're very high maintenance. Some adjacent Deluxe Rooms are connected too in case you come into a big group and want to stay next to each other.
